Matera is a beautiful gray Hanoverian mare by Maronjo and out of mare by
Goldschläger Z.
Maronjo is an Elite Hanoverian stallion. His sire Mahon has a dressage
index of 140 in Germany, and is regarded as a high producer of dressage
horses. His Grand sire, Mahagoni, is the sire of Peron, the highest
placed American dressage horse at the 1996 Olympics. Maronjo won his
100-day test with an impressive overall score of 138.06. His rideability
and jumping scores were both over 130 and he received 9s for character,
temperament, and willingness to work. Maronjo competed through Grand
Prix with a learning trainer. He was a kind and patient school master
to the end, in his retirement he was used as a lunge horse and taught
the “feel” of the FEI movements to many mid-level riders. His workable
disposition always shined. Maronjo attained a ranking of 7th on the USEF
sire list thanks to his offspring in sport. He has produced many
outstanding competition horses who are winners or champions in dressage,
eventing and show jumping as well.
Matera’s dam sire is Goldschlager Z, who brings enormous jumping talent
and a very good trot. He is also known for producing bold mounts with
excellent work ethics.
Matera is a tall, large framed mare with a phenomenal character. She
passes on her exceptional temperament, rideability, and soundness to her
foals. She has produced several lovely sport horse prospects, with two
that are now mature finishing at over 17 hh. She is approved in the main
studbook of the American Hanoverian Society.
