Gorgeous GOV Oldenburg gelding - exciting young prospect for dressage, hunters, or eventing. He is a 2010 dark bay 16.3 hh gelding with a phenomenal temperament. He is by Freestyle (Florestan), who is a wonderful producer and is ranked in the top 1% of German dressage stallions.
Flambeau has three ground covering and exceptionally balanced gaits, his best being his canter. He is supple and very adjustable in his gaits, light in the bridle and works in a soft snaffle. He is easy to put together and loves to work. He has been out to several schooling shows, showing training level dressage (video below) and hunters. He has demonstrated great form over fences through the jump chute and under saddle - clean up front and careful behind. Under saddle he is keen at the jumps and has scope to spare! He is jumping small courses and larger lines. He has also been out to hunter paces, great on the trails and over natural obstacles. Suitable for an amateur to enjoy!
He is offered for sale by his breeder, all history known from birth. He has been handled and hauled around all his life. He showed on the line as a weanling and yearling, receiving very good scores and finished the 2011 season ranked 3rd in the US for GOV Colts/Geldings of his age. He is registered with the GOV/OHBS and is lifetime recorded with USEF & USDF.
He is an easy keeper with good, hard feet (lives barefoot unless we are out showing frequently), and has been healthy & sound. Bathes, clips, ties and does everything he should. Happy to live inside or out, great with other horses in turnout. Loads and hauls like a pro. He has a lot of personality on the ground and an excellent work ethic under saddle, which makes him very enjoyable to work with. He is the trainer's favorite and she says he is "an American bred horse that the Germans would love." Up to date on everything and ready to start his career with a new partner.
